You’ll be part of the Group Legal Digital & Privacy Office team (‘GLDPO’) at Aegon’s headquarter (Aegon Corporate Center), which is based in the Netherlands, WTC Schiphol Airport. We’re looking for a legal intern focusing on legal matters related to digital and IT to join our team. So if you’re interested in learning and gaining practical experience in the legal aspects of cybersecurity, privacy, artificial intelligence, data and other digital related areas, this is your chance.
The Legal Intern Digital & IT will assist in providing legal research and support on digital rules and regulations.
The internship will be supervised by the Legal Counsel Digital & IT, Group Legal Digital & Privacy Office.
Legal Advisory
- Learn to conduct legal research and preparing summaries on legal matters related to the digital domain, including cybersecurity, privacy, artificial intelligence, and data to support Aegon Ltd. and its business units globally.
- Gain skills in reviewing contracts and supporting on various legal and regulatory matters to our internal IT organization (‘GTS’).
Compliance and oversight
- Develop skills in monitoring and keeping oversight of digital rules and regulations applicable to Aegon Ltd. and Aegon’s business units globally.
- Learn and help with creation of impact assessments for (new) rules and regulations in the digital domain.
Education
Currently pursuing a Master’s degree or in the final year of a Bachelor’s program, or a graduate in Law, with a focus or strong proven interest in IT law, digital law, cyber security, and/or privacy.
Expertise and Knowledge
Basic understanding of digital rules and regulations, privacy law, and/or IT law. Relevant study projects, coursework or internships are a plus.
Competencies
- Willingness to learn and understand global laws and regulations in the digital domain (e.g. cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, privacy, data).
- Willingness to learn how to transform knowledge into practical and actionable advice to the business.
- Curious about the capabilities of digital tech, willingness to apply it to legal work.
- Organized and able to keep track of and timely deliver tasks, utilizing available AI tools where necessary.
- Works well in both team and individual settings.
- Fluent in English; mastery of Dutch is an asset but not a requirement.
- Good sense of humor and fun to work with! :)
Terms:
- The internship stipend is 650 EUR per month.
- A personal laptop is provided for the length of your internship.
- Personal guidance.
- You will need a Dutch BSN-number and Dutch bank account.
- Registered with a Dutch Education institution for the duration of the internship
- If you are a non-EU/EER student, you will need a valid residence permit stating you may work (“arbeid vrij toegestaan”).
