Position Overview
Internship Description
ZICOlaw is accepting applications for chambering students at its KLCC headquarters in Kuala Lumpur. As Southeast Asia's largest integrated legal network, ZICOlaw offers chambering students unique exposure to cross-border ASEAN legal work alongside the mandatory Malaysian Bar pupillage requirements.
What You Will Do
- Complete the 9-month mandatory chambering period under a designated pupil master
- Rotate through corporate/M&A, banking and finance, dispute resolution, and Islamic finance practice groups
- Gain exposure to cross-border transactions involving ZICOlaw's network across 10 ASEAN countries
- Assist in due diligence exercises, contract drafting, and regulatory submissions
- Attend the Malaysian Bar Council's chambering programme requirements
- Participate in ZICOlaw's internal training and regional knowledge-sharing sessions
Duration & Compensation
9 months, paid chambering with a competitive monthly allowance. ZICOlaw offers strong prospects for retention and the potential for regional secondments upon admission to the Malaysian Bar.

Requirements
- Holder of Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) or equivalent qualifying certificate
- LL.B. from a recognised Malaysian or overseas university
- Interest in cross-border ASEAN legal practice
- Strong academic record with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 or Second Class Upper Honours
- Excellent English drafting and communication skills
- Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia; additional ASEAN languages are a bonus
- Malaysian citizen or permanent resident
Compensation
RM2,000 - RM3,000/year
