Internship Description
The Union Attorney General's Office in Naypyidaw offers internship positions for outstanding law graduates and final-year students from recognized Myanmar universities. This unpaid internship provides invaluable exposure to government legal practice, legislative drafting, and the operations of Myanmar's chief legal advisory body.
Interns will observe the legislative drafting process, assist with legal research for government advisory opinions, and gain an understanding of Myanmar's constitutional and administrative law framework.
Internship Details
- Duration: 3 months
- Type: Unpaid internship (government transport allowance of MMK 200,000/month provided)
- Start: Government fiscal year intake (April and October)
Responsibilities
- Assist with legal research for government advisory opinions
- Observe the legislative drafting and review process
- Research comparative law for legislative reform initiatives
- Attend internal seminars on constitutional and administrative law
- Help organize legal reference materials and publications
- Support coordination with Region and State AG offices
Requirements
- LL.B. from University of Yangon, Dagon University, University of Mandalay, or equivalent
- Final year student or recent graduate with strong academic record
- Interest in public law, constitutional law, or legislative drafting
- Strong legal research and writing skills in Myanmar
- English proficiency
- Myanmar citizenship required
