Internship — Competition Policy

The Commission for Protection of Competition (KZK) offers an internship for law students interested in competition law and policy. This is a unique opportunity to observe antitrust enforcement from within Bulgaria's competition authority, gaining insight into investigation procedures, merger assessments, and the practical application of EU and Bulgarian competition law.

Assisting legal experts with research on competition law issues and market analysis; Reviewing merger notification documentation and supporting assessment procedures; Monitoring EU competition law developments and ECN publications; Assisting with preparation of investigation reports and procedural documents; Observing hearings and decision-making sessions (where permitted); Preparing research summaries and case digests for the directorate; Attending internal seminars on competition economics and enforcement practice.

Currently enrolled in years IV-V of a Law degree at a Bulgarian university; Strong academic interest in competition law and EU law; Basic knowledge of the Protection of Competition Act and Articles 101-102 TFEU; Academic grade average of minimum 5.00/6.00; Fluent Bulgarian; English at intermediate-advanced level; Bulgarian citizenship required; Analytical mindset and high integrity; Available for minimum 20 hours per week for 3 months.
