Internship Description
The National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) offers a paid 3-month Legal and Compliance Internship at its headquarters in the Diplomatic Area, Manama. This internship is ideal for law students interested in banking law, regulatory compliance, and Islamic finance.
Programme Details
- Duration: 3 months
- Stipend: BHD 200-300 per month
- Start: Rolling applications
- Eligibility: 3rd or 4th year LLB students or recent graduates
What You Will Learn
- Review standard form loan documentation and security instruments
- Assist the Compliance team with AML/KYC reviews
- Research CBB regulatory updates affecting the bank
- Shadow in-house counsel on credit committee meetings
Responsibilities
- Assist legal officers with document review and preparation
- Maintain the compliance tracking spreadsheet
- Prepare weekly regulatory update summaries
- Organise legal department filing and archives
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed an LLB programme
- Bahraini national preferred
- Bilingual in Arabic and English
- Interest in banking and financial services law
- Basic understanding of the Bahrain Commercial Companies Law
