Internship Description

National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) offers a paid 3-month Legal & Compliance Internship at NBK Tower, Sharq, Kuwait City. NBK's structured internship programme gives law students practical experience in banking law, regulatory compliance, and anti-money laundering at Kuwait's largest financial institution.

Programme Details

  • Duration: 3 months (Summer 2026: June-August, or by arrangement)
  • Compensation: Paid — KWD 300-450/month stipend
  • Eligibility: 3rd or 4th year LLB students from recognised universities

What You Will Learn

  • Assist the Legal Department with contract review and legal correspondence
  • Support AML/KYC compliance processes and customer due diligence reviews
  • Research CBK regulations and banking circulars for the compliance team
  • Observe internal committee meetings and Board committee procedures
  • Draft internal legal memoranda on banking law topics

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in 3rd or 4th year of LLB programme at Kuwait University or equivalent
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 or equivalent
  • Bilingual Arabic/English
  • Interest in banking and financial services law
