Legal Intern — Commercial Practice

Consortium Legal Guatemala offers a Legal Internship in its Quetzaltenango regional office. You will assist attorneys with commercial law, real estate transactions, and civil matters for businesses in Guatemala's western highlands.

Key Responsibilities

• Research commercial law provisions under the Codigo de Comercio
• Assist with real estate due diligence at the Segundo Registro de la Propiedad
• Draft basic commercial contracts and legal correspondence
• Support attorneys on civil litigation research and pleading preparation
• Monitor local regulatory developments relevant to western highland businesses

• Support the Quetzaltenango office attorneys on daily matters
• Prepare legal research and draft basic documents
• Assist with Registro de la Propiedad filings and searches
• Participate in client meetings and court observations

• Currently enrolled in a Licenciatura en Ciencias Juridicas y Sociales at a recognised university (USAC Xela, URL, or CUNOC preferred)
• Completed at least 5th semester
• Interest in commercial or civil law practice
• Fluent in Spanish; K'iche' language skills a plus
• Willingness to be based in Quetzaltenango
