Internship Description

The Superintendencia de Bancos (SIB) de Guatemala offers a Legal Internship for law students interested in financial regulation and bank supervision. Based at the SIB's Antigua Guatemala training facility, you will assist the Legal Unit with regulatory research and supervisory documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research SIB normativa, prudential regulations, and banking law
  • Assist with analysis of bank examination reports and compliance findings
  • Draft basic regulatory memoranda and circulars
  • Support the legal team with documentation for enforcement proceedings
  • Compile comparative research on Central American banking regulations

Responsibilities

  • Support the SIB legal unit on supervisory matters
  • Prepare regulatory research reports and summaries
  • Attend SIB training workshops and seminars
  • Assist with the maintenance of the SIB legal database

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Licenciatura en Ciencias Juridicas y Sociales at a recognised Guatemalan university
  • Completed at least 7th semester
  • Interest in banking regulation and financial law
  • Proficiency in Spanish and English
  • Strong research and analytical skills
