Legal Intern — General Practice at MMAKS Advocates
MMAKS Advocates offers a structured internship program for law students and recent LDC graduates seeking practical legal experience at one of Uganda's top-tier law firms. Interns rotate across the firm's practice groups including corporate, banking, litigation, and employment law, gaining exposure to a diverse range of legal matters.
Program Details

Responsibilities
- Assist advocates in legal research and case preparation
- Draft memoranda, legal briefs, and correspondence under supervision
- Attend court proceedings and hearings with supervisors
- Assist with due diligence and document review for transactions
- Organize and maintain legal files and databases
- Support the firm's pro bono program
Requirements
- Current LLB student (3rd year or above) or LDC student
- Strong academic record (Upper Second Class or above)
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Proficiency in English (written and oral)
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Interest in corporate and commercial law is an advantage
Compensation
USh800,000 - USh1,200,000/month
