Internship Description
Rio Tinto's Perth office offers a paid summer vacation programme for law students interested in mining, environmental, and Native Title law. Based at Central Park on St Georges Terrace, you will support Rio Tinto's legal teams on real operational and transactional matters.
Programme Details
- Duration: 8-10 weeks (November-February)
- Compensation: Paid — competitive vacation rate
- Eligibility: Penultimate or final-year LLB/JD students (UWA, Murdoch preferred)
What You Will Do
- Research mining legislation, heritage approvals, and environmental compliance questions
- Assist with contract review and stakeholder engagement documentation
- Attend team meetings with operational and commercial colleagues
