Legal Internship — Bank of Cyprus, Nicosia
Bank of Cyprus is offering a Legal Internship in its Group Legal Division at its Nicosia headquarters. You will rotate across the bank's legal functions including corporate advisory, litigation, compliance, and loan documentation, gaining comprehensive exposure to in-house banking law practice.
This internship provides invaluable experience at Cyprus's systemic bank, supervised directly by the ECB. Ideal for law graduates considering a career in banking law or in-house practice.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Legal Division with contract review, loan agreement drafting, and corporate documentation
- Conduct legal research on banking regulations, CBC directives, and ECB supervisory requirements
- Support the compliance team with AML/KYC file reviews and regulatory correspondence
- Attend internal legal meetings and observe board committee preparations
- Assist with litigation case file management and court document preparation
- Prepare weekly research summaries on banking law developments for the legal team
Requirements
- LLB from a recognised university; pursuing or completed LLM is preferred
- Eligible to register as an Ασκούμενος with the Cyprus Bar Association or recent law graduate
- Interest in banking law, financial regulation, and in-house legal practice
- Basic understanding of Banking Law, Contract Law, and EU financial services regulation
- Fluent Greek and English
- Proficiency in MS Office and legal research databases
