Position Overview
Internship Description
The OSCE Secretariat in Vienna offers a prestigious legal internship in the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) coordination unit. This internship provides unique exposure to international human rights law and security governance.
What You Will Do
- Research international human rights standards and their implementation across OSCE participating States
- Assist with legal analysis of election observation missions and rule of law assessments
- Draft research papers, briefing notes, and background documents on human rights topics
- Support the preparation of OSCE Human Dimension meetings and conferences
- Attend diplomatic meetings and OSCE Permanent Council sessions as an observer
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a postgraduate program in international law, human rights law, or related field
- Strong academic background in public international law and human rights
- Excellent written and oral English; knowledge of other OSCE languages is desirable
- Research and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Interest in multilateral diplomacy and security governance
