Internship Description
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is offering a legal internship in its Office of Legal Affairs in Vienna. This is a prestigious opportunity for aspiring international lawyers interested in nuclear law, non-proliferation, and international treaty frameworks.
What You Will Do
- Research international nuclear law instruments, including the NPT, safeguards agreements, and additional protocols
- Assist Legal Officers with analysis of Member State obligations and compliance issues
- Draft legal memoranda, research papers, and briefing documents
- Attend IAEA Board of Governors meetings and General Conference sessions as an observer
- Support the legislative assistance program for Member States developing nuclear legislation
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a postgraduate degree in international law or nuclear law
- Strong interest in nuclear non-proliferation, disarmament, or international security law
- Excellent English language skills; French or other UN languages are advantageous
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment
