Job Description

Legal Officer – Investment Fund Supervision

The CSSF (Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier) on Route d'Arlon in Luxembourg City is seeking a Legal Officer for its Investment Fund Supervision department.

The CSSF is Luxembourg's financial regulator, overseeing the world's second-largest investment fund industry. You will review UCITS, Part II UCI, SIF, and SICAR applications, process fund prospectus approvals, and conduct ongoing supervision of Luxembourg-authorised collective investment schemes.

What You Will Do

  • Review and process CSSF authorisation applications for UCITS, Part II UCIs, SIFs, and SICARs
  • Examine fund prospectuses, management regulations, and KIIDs/KIDs for regulatory compliance
  • Conduct ongoing supervision of authorised funds and management companies
  • Prepare CSSF opinions on novel fund structures and regulatory queries
  • Participate in ESMA working groups and contribute to EU regulatory policy

Responsibilities

  • Process fund authorisation applications and prospectus reviews
  • Conduct ongoing prudential supervision of investment funds
  • Draft CSSF regulatory guidance and circulars
  • Participate in ESMA committees and EU regulatory consultations
  • Advise internal stakeholders on investment fund regulatory matters

Requirements

  • Master in Law from a recognised European university; LL.M. in Financial Law preferred
  • 3-7 years of experience in Luxembourg investment fund law or fund regulation
  • Deep knowledge of the UCITS Law, AIFM Law, SIF Law, SICAR Law, and CSSF regulations
  • Fluent in English and French; German or Luxembourgish is an advantage
  • EU/EEA citizenship required for public sector positions
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with regulatory drafting
