Legal Services Internship — Central Bank of Cyprus, Nicosia
The Central Bank of Cyprus is offering a Legal Services Internship in its Legal Division in Nicosia. You will assist with legal research on banking regulation, monetary policy legal framework, and EU law matters while completing your pupillage training at the island's apex financial authority.
This is a highly competitive internship offering unparalleled exposure to central banking law, ECB/Eurosystem operations, and prudential supervision at the highest level.
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research on ECB Regulations, CBC directives, and EU banking law developments
- Assist with drafting legal opinions on banking supervision and monetary policy matters
- Research comparative central bank legal frameworks across Eurosystem members
- Assist with the legal review of proposed legislation and EU directive transpositions
- Prepare summaries of ECB Legal Conference proceedings and Eurosystem legal publications
- Support the Legal Division with administrative and organisational tasks
Requirements
- LLB from a recognised university; LLM in EU Law, Banking Law, or Financial Regulation is preferred
- Eligible to register as an Ασκούμενος with the Cyprus Bar Association
- Strong interest in central banking, financial regulation, and EU institutional law
- Knowledge of the Central Bank of Cyprus Law, Banking Law, and TFEU monetary policy provisions
- Fluent Greek and English; additional EU languages are an advantage
- Strong legal research, analysis, and writing skills
