Internship Description

Litigation & Arabic Legal Drafting Intern

Sultan Al-Abdulla & Partners is offering a 10-week paid internship focused on litigation practice and Arabic legal drafting. This is a unique opportunity for bilingual law graduates seeking hands-on experience in a leading Qatari firm. You will assist with commercial litigation before Qatar courts, draft Arabic legal documents, and gain exposure to the Qatari legal system from the inside.

Programme Details

  • Duration: 10 weeks
  • Location: Sultan Al-Abdulla & Partners, West Bay, Doha
  • Paid internship: Monthly stipend provided
  • Open to: Arabic-speaking law students or recent graduates

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft Arabic pleadings and legal memoranda under the supervision of senior advocates
  • Conduct research on Qatar Civil Code (Law No. 22 of 2004) and Commercial Procedure Code
  • Attend hearings at the Qatar Court of First Instance and Court of Appeal as an observer
  • Assist with document translation and bilingual legal drafting
  • Support the team on real estate and commercial dispute matters

Responsibilities

  • Assist with court filings and procedural matters
  • Complete assigned legal research projects in Arabic and English
  • Attend weekly mentoring sessions with a senior advocate
  • Maintain case files and document management
  • Prepare an end-of-programme research paper on a Qatari legal topic

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed an LLB programme (Qatari or international)
  • Native or near-native Arabic proficiency with strong English skills — bilingual drafting essential
  • Interest in litigation, advocacy, and Qatari law
  • Knowledge of Qatar's legal system is advantageous
  • Strong academic record and attention to detail
