Internship Description
EP Petroecuador offers a pre-professional internship in its Legal Department in Quito. Interns will support the legal team on public procurement, contract management, and regulatory compliance matters related to Ecuador's strategic oil sector.
This internship provides unique exposure to legal practice at the heart of Ecuador's energy industry, working on procurement processes, environmental compliance, and hydrocarbon regulation.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with procurement documentation and SERCOP portal filings
- Conducting legal research on the Ley de Hidrocarburos and LOSNCP
- Supporting the team with contract file management and document review
- Helping prepare legal memoranda on regulatory compliance matters
- Attending administrative hearings and procurement committee sessions as an observer
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in the final 2 years of Derecho at a recognised Ecuadorian university
- Interest in energy law, public procurement, or administrative law
- Strong organisational and research skills
- Compliance with LOSEP requirements for public sector internships
- Availability for a minimum of 4 months
Compensation
$500 - $700/year
