Regulatory Policy Intern
The Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority (QFCRA) is offering a 10-week paid internship in its Policy & Legal Division at the QFC Tower in West Bay. This internship provides a rare opportunity to work within a financial services regulator, gaining insight into how regulations are developed, implemented, and enforced within the Qatar Financial Centre.
Programme Details
- Duration: 10 weeks
- Location: QFCRA, QFC Tower, West Bay, Doha
- Paid internship: Monthly stipend of QAR 5,000-7,000
- Open to: Law or finance students in their final year, or recent graduates
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comparative research on international financial regulatory standards (FATF, IOSCO, Basel Committee)
- Assist with drafting consultation papers and regulatory impact assessments
- Support the legal team on policy development projects
- Compile regulatory intelligence reports on developments in peer financial centres
- Attend internal meetings and observe the regulatory process firsthand
Responsibilities
- Support the Policy & Legal Division on active projects
- Complete research assignments within agreed timelines
- Attend internal training on QFC regulatory framework
- Prepare a policy brief on a selected regulatory topic
- Present research findings to the QFCRA leadership team
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a law, finance, or economics programme
- Interest in financial regulation, compliance, or public policy
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Excellent written English
- Right to work in Qatar or eligibility for an internship visa
