- Duration: 10-12 weeks (November 2026 - February 2027)
- Compensation: Paid — approximately NZ$1,100-1,200/week
- Eligibility: 2nd or 3rd year LLB (or equivalent) students at a New Zealand university
- Application Period: March - July 2026 via clerkship portal
What You Will Do
- Assist with due diligence, Companies Office searches, and data room management on live transactions
- Draft board minutes, NZX announcements, and ancillary deal documentation
- Research Companies Act 1993, NZX Listing Rules, and Takeovers Code questions
- Attend client meetings, negotiations, and networking events with firm partners
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in 2nd or 3rd year of LLB (or LLB(Hons)/BA(Hons) conjoint) at a New Zealand university
- Strong academic record (B+ average or above)
- Demonstrated interest in commercial law through mooting, law review, or extracurriculars
