AML/Compliance Lawyer at BIBD
BIBD is seeking an AML/Compliance Lawyer for its Risk and Compliance Division in Bandar Seri Begawan. The role involves managing anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorism financing (CTF), and sanctions compliance programmes in line with BDCB regulations and FATF standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee BIBD's AML/CTF compliance framework under the Criminal Asset Recovery Order 2012 and the Anti-Terrorism Order 2011
- File suspicious transaction reports (STRs) with the Brunei Darussalam Financial Intelligence Unit (BDFIU)
- Conduct enhanced due diligence (EDD) on high-risk customers and politically exposed persons (PEPs)
- Develop and deliver AML/CTF training programmes for bank staff
- Monitor compliance with BDCB prudential guidelines on AML and sanctions screening
- Advise on sanctions compliance and screening processes
Responsibilities
- Manage the bank's AML/CTF compliance programme
- File regulatory reports and conduct enhanced due diligence
- Develop compliance training materials and conduct staff training
Requirements
- Law degree or degree in finance, compliance, or risk management
- 3-6 years of experience in AML/CTF compliance, financial crime, or banking regulation
- Knowledge of the Criminal Asset Recovery Order 2012 and BDCB AML guidelines
- CAMS or ICA certification is an advantage
- Strong analytical and investigative skills
- Fluent in English and Malay
