The job provides support in addressing the Legal and Corporate Governance requirements of the Company and its subsidiary/ies.

  • Provides legal advice to business units on day‑to‑day operational, commercial, and regulatory matters, or in relation to special projects or strategic initiatives 
  • Drafts, reviews, and negotiates contracts, agreements, and legal documents within prescribed turnaround times 
  • Identifies legal risks and proposes practical risk‑mitigating solutions aligned with Company policies 
  • Handles the function-relevant regulatory filings of the Company and its subsidiaries 
  • Properly monitors and/or implements policies, standards or guidelines owned by the Legal Department (eg. Information Sharing and Securities Dealing, Competition Law) 
  • Maintains an organized system for contract and legal document safekeeping, tracking, and retrieval while ensuring completeness and accuracy of legal records and contract databases 
  • Supports and implements improvements to legal workflows, templates, and turnaround processes 
  • Prepares the function-relevant reports required by the regional and group offices and the Company 
  • Liaises with relevant government offices and other competent authorities as may be required 
  • Provides support for corporate governance and corporate secretarial matters, when assigned, including assistance in the preparation of board and board committee materials, coordination of meetings of the Board, Board Committees, and shareholders, and drafting of minutes and secretary’s certificates. 

Compliance & Risk Management 

  • Ensures that all function-related compliance matters are identified and openly and honestly reported to the Line Manager and/or the Compliance Officer in accordance with the reporting requirements operated within the work unit and the Company. 

  • Ensures adherence with all relevant statutory, compliance, risk management and audit standards and requirements in carrying out his or her functions 

  • Provides such other legal services as may from time to time by required by his or her Line Manager and/or the SVP & Chief Legal, Government Relations and Sustainability Officer
