Job Description
Widyawan & Partners is hiring an Associate for its Maritime & Shipping practice at the Niaga Tower on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, South Jakarta. With Indonesia being the world's largest archipelagic state, maritime law is a critical practice area covering shipping contracts, port operations, marine insurance, and cabotage regulations under UU Pelayaran.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and review charterparty agreements, bills of lading, and marine insurance policies
- Advise on cabotage regulations and vessel registration with the Directorate General of Sea Transportation
- Handle maritime claims and ship arrest proceedings before Pengadilan Negeri
- Advise on port concession agreements and terminal operations
- Coordinate with P&I clubs and international maritime arbitration bodies
Requirements
- LLB from a recognised Indonesian university
- Admitted as Advokat by PERADI
- 3-5 years experience in maritime, shipping, or transport law
- Knowledge of UU Pelayaran and international maritime conventions
- Strong English for international shipping documentation
Responsibilities
