position. ALL QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE MET BY THE CLOSING DATE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. You may qualify at the GS-15 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: Possess four (4) years of professional legal experience; one year must be equivalent to the GS-14 grade level that demonstrates the following: 1. Advising and counseling mid to senior-level leaders or clients on complex Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) administrative law, ethics, and litigation issues: AND 2. Drafting or reviewing legal memoranda, regulations, policies, and guidance and conducting investigations to obtain facts; AND 3. Training and briefing staff and leadership on ethics and other legal/administrative requirements. Experience managing systems for compliance with ethics and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requirements and responding to litigation is desirable. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the next lower grade or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
