Banking Operations Paralegal

Bank Islam Malaysia is seeking a Banking Operations Paralegal to support its Legal Division in managing Islamic banking documentation and loan perfection processes. Based at Menara Bank Islam in Kuala Lumpur, the role involves reviewing financing documentation, managing security perfection, and ensuring compliance with Bank Negara Malaysia's requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and process Islamic financing facility documents including murabahah, ijarah, and musharakah agreements
• Manage security perfection processes including land charge registration, assignment of insurance, and memorandum of deposit
• Conduct title searches at land offices and verify property details for financing applications
• Prepare and manage the bank's panel solicitor appointment process and monitor turnaround times
• Maintain the legal department's document management system and case tracking database
• Liaise with panel solicitors, borrowers, and internal business units on documentation matters

About This Role

This role offers exposure to Islamic banking documentation at Malaysia's first Islamic bank, providing a strong foundation for a career in banking legal operations or Islamic finance.

• Diploma or degree in law, banking, or business administration
• 1-3 years of experience in banking operations, loan documentation, or legal support
• Basic understanding of Islamic financing principles and documentation
• Familiarity with land title search processes and security perfection procedures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle high volumes of documentation
• Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia
