Job Description
Commercial Dispute Resolution Lawyer — Kurdistan Legal Group, Erbil
Kurdistan Legal Group seeks a lawyer specializing in commercial disputes to represent clients in Kurdistan Region courts and arbitration proceedings. The role involves handling construction disputes, investment disputes, and commercial contract enforcement cases in one of Iraq's most active business environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in commercial disputes before Erbil and Sulaymaniyah Commercial Courts
- Handle construction disputes and contractor claims on major development projects
- Manage arbitration proceedings under Kurdistan Region and Iraqi arbitration law
- Advise on enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards in Kurdistan
- Draft settlement agreements and mediation submissions
- Handle investment disputes involving the Kurdistan Board of Investment
Requirements
- Licensed muhami with right of audience before Kurdistan Region courts
- 3-6 years of litigation or dispute resolution experience
- Knowledge of Kurdistan Region court procedures and Iraqi Arbitration Law
- Fluency in Kurdish (Sorani), Arabic, and English
- Experience with construction or investment disputes preferred
- LLB from a recognized university
