Responsabilités
- Represent defendants in criminal proceedings before the Tribunal Correctionnel, Cour Criminelle, and appellate courts
- Handle cases involving white-collar crime, financial fraud, and corruption charges
- Advise clients during police investigations and judicial instruction (instruction judiciaire)
- Prepare defense briefs and plead before criminal courts in Arabic and French
- Manage extradition and mutual legal assistance requests for international criminal matters
- Handle juvenile justice matters before the Tribunal des Mineurs
Requirements
Licence or Master's in Criminal Law or Penal Sciences. 3-6 years' experience in criminal defense litigation. Active membership in the Barreau de Constantine. Strong knowledge of Algeria's Penal Code (Code pénal) and Code of Criminal Procedure (Code de procédure pénale). Excellent oral advocacy and courtroom presence. Experience with pre-trial detention hearings and bail applications. Fluency in Arabic required; French proficiency expected. Commitment to criminal defense and the right to fair trial.
