Data Protection & Privacy Counsel

Zain Iraq is looking for a Data Protection & Privacy Counsel to build and manage the company's data protection compliance program as Iraq develops its data privacy regulatory framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Zain Iraq's data protection compliance framework
• Advise on subscriber data handling, consent management, and lawful interception obligations
• Monitor international data protection developments (GDPR, regional standards) for applicability
• Handle data subject access requests and data breach incident response
• Draft privacy notices, data processing agreements, and internal policies
• Train business teams on data protection best practices
• Advise on cross-border data transfer mechanisms with Zain Group entities

• Law degree with data protection or technology law background
• 2-5 years of experience in data protection, privacy law, or technology law
• Understanding of international data protection frameworks (GDPR, etc.)
• Knowledge of Iraqi telecommunications regulations
• Arabic and English proficiency
• CIPP/E or similar privacy certification is a plus
• Experience in a telecommunications or technology company preferred
