Dentons Canada LLP is seeking a Compliance Officer for its Calgary office. You will oversee the firm's internal compliance with Law Society of Alberta rules, anti-money laundering regulations, and client identification and verification requirements under the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act.

- Ensure firm-wide compliance with the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA)
- Implement and monitor client identification and verification procedures as required by the Law Society of Alberta
- Conduct internal file reviews and compliance audits across all practice groups
- Develop and deliver training on anti-money laundering, conflict of interest, and ethical obligations
- Liaise with the Law Society of Alberta on trust account audits and regulatory inquiries
Requirements
- Called to the Bar in Alberta or Ontario
- 3-6 years experience in legal compliance, risk management, or professional regulation
- JD/LLB from a recognized law school
- CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) designation an asset
- Strong knowledge of law society rules and PCMLTFA requirements
