We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced accounting leader to join our team in India. This role is critical to ensuring the financial integrity and compliance of our operations across the APAC region. As one of our first accounting hires locally, you will be the face of the finance function in the region, acting as a key leader and the primary point of escalation for finance matters. This is a role would suit an ambitious, career-oriented individual looking to make a significant impact in a rapidly expanding region and offers excellent growth opportunities.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and manage the annual local audit and accounts filings for our various entities across the APAC region.
  • Collaborate closely with local vendors, service providers, and our corporate legal and tax teams to ensure full compliance with local company filings and tax regulations, including, but not limited to, GST and Corporate Tax matters.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of monthly trial balances to ensure accuracy and the completeness of all accruals, prepayments, and P&L classifications prior to the monthly financial close.
  • Prepare and present monthly reviews of key financial movements, providing insights and analysis on variances.
  • Perform and oversee the reconciliation of key ledger accounts, ensuring all entries are supported by appropriate evidence and documentation.
  • Collaborate with the payroll team to ensure the accuracy of payroll-related accounting journals and reconciliations.
  • Support the local Accounts Receivable (AR) Shared Service team on credit control operations, acting as the local point of escalation for any AR Aging, Bad Debt, and invoicing queries for the APAC region by leveraging relationships with key stakeholders and Business Partners.
  • Act as the local point of support and escalation for all finance-related matters, establishing the finance presence and providing expert guidance to our teams in the region.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent professional certification is highly preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in accounting, with a strong focus on audit, tax, and international compliance for the APAC region.
  • The ability to be both hands-on and deep in the operational details, while also serving as a strategic partner to local business leaders.
  • Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the presence and credibility to act as the face of a key corporate function.
  • An ambitious, self-starter attitude with the ability to thrive independently and build strong cross-functional relationships.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles (e.g., IFRS, US GAAP) and regional financial regulations.
  • Hands-on experience with major ERP systems
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
