Job Description

At Snowflake, we are powering the era of the agentic enterprise. To usher in this new era, we seek AI-native thinkers across every function who are energized by the opportunity to reinvent how they work. You don’t just use tools; you possess an innate curiosity, treating AI as a high-trust collaborator that is core to how you solve problems and accelerate your impact. We look for low-ego individuals who thrive in dynamic and fast-moving environments and move with an experimental mindset — who rapidly test emerging capabilities to discover simpler, more powerful ways to deliver results. At Snowflake, your role isn't just to execute a function, but to help redefine the future of how work gets done.

Snowflake is seeking an experienced technology transactions/commercial contracting leader to join our world-class legal team, reporting to the Senior Director, Associate General Counsel – Technology Transactions and Alliances. We are looking for someone who has demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to hit the ground running and make an immediate impact. Our ideal candidate will be an experienced, creative, collaborative, and pragmatic problem solver who excels at negotiating complex partnership agreements and leading key team initiatives, including driving improvement of processes, cross-functional workflows, and templates. Top-tier writing and analytical skills are required. Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to recognize and weigh business and legal risks, think strategically, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and advance practical solutions. This is a great opportunity to join a growing legal team and work on cutting edge issues in an exciting environment.

This is a hybrid role based in Menlo Park, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work closely with Snowflake's Business Development, Partnerships, Sales, and Strategic Sourcing teams on strategic product-related partnerships and other technology transactions

  • Effectively lead, project-manage, structure, negotiate and close deals, such as agreements for SaaS, AI, cloud infrastructure, and other strategic partnerships

  • Provide sound, practical guidance on legal and business-related issues to senior business leaders

  • Balance legal risks against real-world business imperatives to provide pragmatic and market-based solutions

  • Respond promptly to the demands of stakeholders and their management

  • Actively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, finance, tax, product, engineering, security, and compliance, to appropriately manage risk and build processes to foster compliance

  • Lead and manage a team of attorneys

  • Monitor overall deal workflow to identify bottlenecks and drive resolution

  • Lead the development and improvement of forms, policies, processes and playbooks to help streamline, simplify and automate our contracting processes

  • Keep abreast of the rapidly evolving legal landscape affecting our agreements

  • Work well in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment

REQUIREMENTS:
  • At least 9 years of legal experience as a practicing attorney, including at a top law firm and in-house with SaaS or similar technology companies

  • Strong background in SaaS-centric issues (e.g., data, privacy, security, and intellectual property)

  • Demonstrated leadership and cross-functional execution experience, including the ability to inspire a team, instill urgency, and drive high-quality results despite obstacles.

  • Ability to think creatively, be solution-oriented, and to press forward in ambiguous situations with a “get it done” mindset

  • Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to effectively use collaboration tools and techniques

  • Highly responsive and service-oriented attitude, and able to effectively manage numerous deals and meet tight deadlines.

  • Demonstrated business judgment

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills

  • Effective interpersonal relationship skills with the ability to work with all levels across the company and the globe

  • Attitude that no project is too big or too small

  • Willingness to experiment with and employ AI tools in the workplace

  • JD from an accredited law school, membership in at least one state bar, and ability to practice in California
