HSSE Compliance & Assurance Manager
Position Overview
Job Description
Responsible for ensuring full HSSE compliance and providing independent assurance through audits, inspections, and risk management, supporting safe and efficient delivery of high-risk marine and construction activities.
- HSSE Compliance & Monitoring
- Ensure compliance with all applicable HSSE laws, regulations, and project requirements;
- Monitor contractor HSSE performance against approved plans, procedures, and KPIs;
- Verify implementation of HSSE Management Systems across all project sites.
- Audit & Assurance
- Conduct regular HSSE audits, inspections, and site assessments;
- Identify non-conformances and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions;
- Support internal and external audits, including client and regulatory reviews.
- Risk Management
- Identify HSSE risks associated with marine, construction, and logistics activities;
- Review and validate risk assessments (HIRA/JSA) and mitigation measures;
- Ensure critical risk controls are effectively implemented and maintained.
- Incident Management
- Monitor reporting and investigation of incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions;
- Ensure root cause analysis is carried out and lessons learned are implemented;
- Track closure of corrective actions.
- HSSE Advisory & Support
- Provide guidance to project teams and contractors on HSSE requirements;
- Promote continuous improvement and best practices in HSSE performance;
- Support toolbox talks, training, and safety awareness initiatives.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare regular HSSE reports (daily, weekly, monthly) for management and client;
- Maintain accurate HSSE records, logs, and compliance documentation;
- Highlight key risks, trends, and improvement areas.
- Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with client, contractors, and regulatory authorities on HSSE matters;
- Support coordination between project packages to ensure consistent HSSE standards;
Participate in HSSE meetings, progress reviews, and coordination sessions.
- Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.
- Minimum 8–12 years of HSSE experience in construction, marine, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of international HSSE standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001);
- Experience in high-risk environments (jetty, port, or heavy construction projects preferred);
- Professional certifications (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH) are an advantage.
- A K3 certificate refers to a certification in Occupational Health and Safety (Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja – K3) in Indonesia, which is mandatory and must be valid:
- Ahli K3 Umum (mandatory/strongly preferred)
- Ahli K3 Konstruksi (especially for jetty/infrastructure projects)
- POM & POP certificates
