Position Overview
Job Description
Lane Neave is seeking a Junior Solicitor for general practice in Hamilton, servicing the Waikato region. Hamilton is a growing city at the heart of New Zealand's agricultural heartland, and this role provides broad exposure to property, commercial, rural, and dispute resolution work for individuals, businesses, and farming clients in the Waikato.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle residential and rural property conveyancing under the Property Law Act 2007
- Draft and review commercial agreements, terms of trade, and business sale and purchase agreements
- Assist with estate planning including wills, enduring powers of attorney, and trust administration
- Prepare Family Court applications and relationship property agreements under the Property (Relationships) Act 1976
- Attend court fixtures in the Hamilton District Court and support senior solicitors on litigation matters
Requirements
- Admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand with a current Practising Certificate
- 0-2 years PQE; completed Professional Legal Studies Course (PLSC) or equivalent
- LLB from a New Zealand university
- Interest in regional practice and willingness to work across multiple practice areas
