About the Role
Kenafric Industries Limited is seeking a Legal & Compliance Officer to join their team in Nairobi. The role involves maintaining company records, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing contracts, and protecting intellectual property within one of Kenya's largest manufacturing companies.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain company records and critical legal documents in an organized and accessible manner
- Ensure regulatory compliance across all business operations, including timely permit renewals and license maintenance
- Update and review internal policies to align with evolving legal and regulatory requirements
- Manage the full contract lifecycle — drafting, reviewing, negotiating, renewing, and filing contracts and agreements
- Protect the company's intellectual property portfolio, including trademark registration and enforcement
- Support dispute resolution processes and coordinate legal proceedings when necessary
- Liaise with external lawyers and provide supporting legal documentation for ongoing matters
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting the manufacturing industry and advise management accordingly
Responsibilities

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Diploma in Law, or equivalent from an accredited institution
- Minimum 2 years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing or FMCG environment
- Experience reviewing and preparing legal documents, contracts, and agreements
- Proficiency in legal research and analysis
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks in Kenya
- Proficiency in MS Office and relevant legal software
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Compensation
KSh120,000 - KSh300,000/month
