About the Role
Hammouri & Partners is seeking a Legal Assistant for the Contracts and Documentation team. This support role is ideal for recent law graduates who want to build a foundation in contract drafting and legal documentation at a well-established Jordanian law firm.
Responsibilities
- Assist lawyers with drafting, reviewing, and amending commercial contracts and agreements
- Maintain and organise the contract management system, including tracking expiry dates and renewal clauses
- Prepare standard form contracts, powers of attorney, and notarisation documentation
- Conduct basic legal research on contractual terms and Jordanian commercial law provisions
- Coordinate with the Amman Chamber of Commerce and government ministries for company registration documents
- Support the team with administrative tasks including filing, scanning, and document management
Requirements
- LLB from a recognised Jordanian university or diploma in legal studies
- 0-1 years of experience in a legal or administrative environment
- Good knowledge of basic contract law principles under the Jordanian Civil Code
- Strong Arabic language skills with basic English proficiency
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and document management systems
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work under deadlines
