Legal Counsel — Corporate Banking
Position Overview
Job Description
Arab Bank, the largest financial institution in Jordan headquartered on Shmeisani Street in Amman, is hiring a Legal Counsel for its Corporate Banking division. You will provide legal support for corporate lending, trade finance, and structured products across the bank's regional operations, ensuring compliance with the Jordanian Banking Law and Central Bank of Jordan regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and negotiate corporate loan agreements, LC documentation, and trade finance instruments
- Advise on regulatory compliance with CBJ circulars and anti-money laundering regulations
- Provide legal opinions on credit facilities and security packages
- Support the corporate banking team on client onboarding and KYC requirements
- Liaise with external counsel on litigation matters involving the bank
Requirements
- LLB from a recognised university; LLM in banking/finance law preferred
- Admitted to the Jordan Bar Association
- 6-10 years PQE in banking or corporate law
- Experience with CBJ regulatory framework
- Fluent in Arabic and English
