Key Responsibilities
- Advise on Korean Strategic Items Export Control regulations and coordinate export licence applications to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE)
- Monitor and analyse US Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Entity List restrictions, and CHIPS Act requirements affecting Samsung's semiconductor operations
- Develop internal compliance procedures for controlled technology transfers, deemed exports, and foreign direct product rules
- Advise on customs classification, country of origin, and free trade agreement utilisation for semiconductor components
- Coordinate with Samsung's global legal teams on trade compliance for manufacturing operations in the US, China, and Vietnam
Requirements
- Korean 변호사 licence with 3-5 years of trade compliance, customs, or regulatory experience
- Knowledge of Korean strategic trade regulations and US export control frameworks (EAR, ITAR)
- Understanding of semiconductor industry supply chains and technology classifications
- Excellent English for coordination with US counsel and regulatory authorities
