Legal Expert — Banking Supervision

The Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) is seeking a Legal Expert for its Banking Supervision Department. The role involves drafting regulatory acts, providing legal opinions on supervisory matters, and ensuring the consistent application of Bulgarian and EU banking legislation. Drafting and reviewing BNB regulatory acts, ordinances, and supervisory guidelines; Providing legal opinions on banking supervision matters and licensing applications; Analyzing the implementation of EU banking directives into Bulgarian law; Supporting supervisory proceedings, sanctions, and enforcement actions; Participating in BNB's cooperation with the ECB, EBA, and other EU institutions; Advising on bank resolution and deposit guarantee scheme matters; Representing BNB in inter-institutional working groups and EU regulatory committees.

Master's degree in Law; Minimum 7 years of experience in banking regulation, financial law, or public administration; Deep knowledge of the Law on the BNB, Credit Institutions Act, and Bank Bankruptcy Act; Thorough understanding of EU banking regulation (SSM, CRD/CRR, BRRD); Experience drafting regulatory acts and legal opinions; Fluent English required; Bulgarian citizenship; Clean criminal record and security clearance eligibility.
