Program Details
- Duration: 3-6 months (flexible start dates)
- Compensation: Paid — monthly intern salary
- Eligibility: 2nd or 3rd year 법학전문대학원 students; engineering background preferred
What You Will Do
- Assist with patent prosecution and portfolio management for Hyundai's EV, hydrogen, and ADAS technologies
- Conduct prior art searches and patentability analyses using KIPRIS and international patent databases
- Review and summarise patent litigation proceedings at the Patent Court in Daejeon and Seoul Central District Court
- Support trademark management for Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis brands across global markets
- Research comparative IP law developments in the US, EU, and China affecting the automotive industry
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Korean 법학전문대학원; undergraduate degree in engineering, physics, or chemistry is strongly preferred
- Interest in intellectual property law and automotive technology
- Familiarity with Korean 특허법 (Patent Act) and KIPO examination procedures
- English proficiency for international patent research; 변리사 (patent attorney) exam preparation is a plus
