Legal Manager — Corporate Affairs

About the Role

Arab Potash Company, Jordan s largest mining and industrial enterprise, is seeking a Legal Manager for Corporate Affairs based at the Aqaba operations. You will lead the legal function supporting commercial operations, government relations, and regulatory compliance for one of the world s largest potash producers.

Responsibilities

• Manage all legal matters for the Aqaba operations, including commercial contracts, procurement agreements, and joint venture arrangements
• Advise on regulatory compliance with the Natural Resources Authority, Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), and the Ministry of Energy
• Draft and negotiate concession agreements, supply contracts, and export documentation
• Oversee litigation matters and instruct external counsel on disputes before Jordanian courts and international arbitral tribunals
• Advise the Board of Directors on corporate governance, compliance, and statutory reporting under the Jordanian Companies Law
• Manage environmental compliance and HSE legal matters related to mining operations on the Dead Sea

Requirements

• LLB or LLM from a recognised university; specialisation in corporate or commercial law
• Licensed member of the Jordan Bar Association with minimum 7 years post-qualification experience
• Experience in the extractive industries, energy, or heavy industry sectors preferred
• Strong knowledge of Jordanian corporate law, mining regulations, and environmental legislation
• Excellent leadership and management skills with experience supervising a legal team
• Fluency in Arabic and English; ability to negotiate complex commercial agreements
