Legal Manager will be responsible for all Legal operational elements of Sandoz Kazakhstan (NTLE, Representative Office of Sandoz in Kazakhstan) including implementing Global initiatives, policies and requirements and ensuring legal support of operations in according with relevant local legislative requirements. In addition, Legal Manager will support Sandoz business in distribution markets of Central Asia & Caucasus. Legal Manager will take care of day-to-day operational legal and corporate work as well as reporting and Contract management applications and support the Head Legal & Compliance in driving Legal excellence for Sandoz Kazakhstan.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Lead, in collaboration with Head L&C and local Leadership team, legal processes to drive business priorities while protecting the company and  best serving our customers and patients.

  • Provide guidance on and ensure compliance with the unit’s Business priorities.

  • Advise and guide business decisions and actions to be consistent with external legal requirements and Sandoz requirements and principles.

  • Drive simplification and clarification of Sandoz Kazakhstan policies and processes.

  • Provide legal advice and guidance to the business, as well as manage compliance with legal requirements.

  • Conduct trainings on legal topics (e.g. Dawn Raid Guidance, Fair Competition, Pharmaceutical Advertising, Legal Onboarding etc)

  • Ensure corporate governance of Sandoz Kazakhstan (accreditation, PoAs, permits, reporting, etc.)

  • Ensure update and maintenance of Legal SharePoint and contract templates for interactions with Health Care Professionals and Health Care Organisations

  • Ensure update and maintenance of Legal SharePoint and contract templates for interactions with Health Care Professionals and Health Care Organisations, vendors, pharmacy chains, distributors, etc. Adaptations of Global templates to the needs of Sandoz Kazakhstan.

  • Advise on companies’ contractual & statutory obligations manage disputes and litigation, support management decision processes with legal risk assessments.

  • Manage Contract Applications and legal reporting (e.g. Legal Matters update, Litigation tracker, Sandoz d.d. statutory registers, etc.)

  • Reviewing and drafting all types of contracts in order to ensure compliance with both local laws and regulations and Sandoz global policies and standards

  • Preparation of the relevant legal policies/procedures (e.g. Contact management). Support relevant functions  with legal reviewing, developing and implementing relevant policies/procedures, as well as adapting existing Global guidelines to local activities and day-to-day operations

  • Constant monitoring of the changes in legal environment and legislation of Kazakhstan and update of relevant managers, leadership team

  • Relationship (from legal point of view) with the relevant state authorities (participation in the meetings, drafting the proposals on legislation changes, etc.)

  • Preparation of the request to relevant state authorities, replies to the requests, claims, etc.

  • Ensure timely and high-quality analysis of legislation, legislation drafts and their potential impact on business processes of Sandoz Kazakhstan.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Kazakhstan Law School graduate

  • Fluency in Kazakhstan, Russian and English essential

  • Minimum 5 years post qualification experience required: ideally gained within a healthcare / pharmaceutical environment, and/or, with a top-tier law firm  representing healthcare & technology clients, and/or, international company

  • Experience in managing Legal work and projects.
