Job Description
The Securities and Exchange Commission Nigeria, the apex regulatory body for the Nigerian capital market established in 1979, is recruiting a Legal Officer for the Enforcement & Compliance Division. The role involves investigating market misconduct, insider trading, market manipulation and other violations of the Investments and Securities Act (ISA) 2007.

Responsibilities
- Investigating suspected market misconduct including insider trading and market manipulation
- Conducting compliance reviews of market operators and registered entities
- Preparing enforcement notices, sanctions and administrative proceedings
- Advising on regulatory policy development for the capital market
- Representing SEC in proceedings before the Investment and Securities Tribunal
Requirements
- LL.B and B.L. with admission to the Nigerian Bar
- 4-7 years post-call experience in securities regulation, capital markets or financial services law
- Strong knowledge of the Investments and Securities Act 2007 and SEC Rules
- Experience with regulatory enforcement or compliance preferred
- Nigerian citizenship required
Compensation
₦700,000 - ₦1,000,000/month
