Job Description
Banka Slovenije (Bank of Slovenia), the central bank and a member of the Eurosystem and the European System of Central Banks, is seeking a Legal Specialist for our Legal Department in Ljubljana. You will provide legal support for central banking operations, financial supervision, and monetary policy implementation within the euro area framework.
The role involves working with the Zakon o Banki Slovenije (ZBS-1, Bank of Slovenia Act), ZBan-3 (Banking Act), and EU financial services legislation. You will contribute to the ECB Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM) and advise on macroprudential policy, payment systems oversight, and resolution framework matters.
Responsibilities
Draft legal opinions on central banking operations, monetary policy, and financial supervision. Advise on banking supervision matters within the ECB Single Supervisory Mechanism. Support the legal framework for macroprudential policy tools and financial stability measures. Prepare legal analysis for the Governing Board of Banka Slovenije. Advise on payment systems oversight and the digital euro project.
Requirements
Magister prava from a recognized university, LL.M. in EU law or financial law preferred. 3-6 years of experience in financial regulation, central banking, or public law. Strong knowledge of ZBS-1 (Bank of Slovenia Act) and EU financial law. Understanding of ECB/SSM framework and macroprudential regulation. Fluent in Slovenian and English.
