Job Description

Abramson Labor Group is seeking an experienced Managing Attorney to lead and supervise our Workers’ Compensation practice.  You’ll work directly with the Managing Partner, oversee a talented group of attorneys and support staff, and ensure our cases are handled with exceptional care and strategy.

Why This Role Is Different

Unlike most managing attorney positions, there are NO billable hour requirements, NO rigid performance metrics, and NO status update letter quotas. Your focus will be on leading, mentoring, and winning cases.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the Workers’ Compensation department, ensuring strong case strategies and client service.

  • Provide guidance on complex legal matters, case evaluations, and settlement negotiations.

  • Mentor and develop attorneys to maintain consistent, high-quality representation.

  • Step in for trials, hearings, and negotiations as needed.

  • Conduct client educational webinars and address escalated client matters.

  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and team-oriented culture.

  • JD and active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.

  • 8–12 years of Workers’ Compensation experience (Applicant & Defense mix preferred).

  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and negotiation skills.

Why You’ll Love Working for Abramson Labor Group

No Billable Hours – Focus on quality, not quantity.
No Arbitrary Metrics – Success is measured by impact and results.
No Status Update Letter Quotas – Spend more time practicing law.
Collaborative Team Environment – Work with attorneys and staff who share your passion for advocacy.
Meaningful Work – Make a real difference for workers across California.
