Position Overview
Job Description
Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP is seeking an Associate for its Employment & Labour practice at its Vancouver office in the heart of British Columbia's commercial district. You will advise employers on the full spectrum of employment law issues under the BC Employment Standards Act, human rights legislation, and federal labour law.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise employers on wrongful dismissal, constructive dismissal, and employment contract disputes under BC employment law
- Draft employment agreements, restrictive covenants, and workplace policies compliant with the BC Employment Standards Act
- Represent employers at the BC Human Rights Tribunal and the Employment Standards Branch
- Advise on workplace investigations, harassment complaints, and accommodation obligations
- Handle collective bargaining and labour arbitration matters under the BC Labour Relations Code
Requirements
- Called to the Bar in BC (Law Society of British Columbia member)
- 3-5 years post-call experience in employment and labour law
- JD or LLB from a recognized Canadian law school
- Tribunal and arbitration experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal and client advisory skills
