Acting as a key support to the finance leadership, the role contributes directly to the smooth running of payroll, compliance, and reporting functions across the business.

Accountabilities:

    • Manage end-to-end payroll processing using systems such as Sage, QuickBooks, or SimplePay, ensuring accuracy and full statutory compliance
    • Prepare and submit monthly EMP201 returns, bi-annual EMP501 reconciliations, UIF declarations, and COIDA Return of Earnings via SARS platforms
    • Oversee HR administrative compliance including onboarding, offboarding, and maintenance of employee records in line with POPIA requirements
    • Support Employment Equity reporting and assist with WSP/ATR submissions to relevant SETA bodies
    • Maintain statutory company records including director and shareholder registers, beneficial ownership records, and CIPC compliance documentation
    • Prepare and lodge annual company returns and ensure ongoing alignment with Companies Act requirements
    • Manage accounts payable processes, including supplier invoice processing via QuickBooks and ApprovalMax
    • Perform bank reconciliations and provide support for trial balance preparation and year-end financial reporting
    • Requirements:

      • 3โ€“5+ years of experience in a multi-functional role covering payroll, bookkeeping, HR compliance, and company secretarial duties within South Africa
      • National Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Financial Management, Human Resources, Corporate Governance, or a related field
      • Strong hands-on experience with SARS e@syFile, SARS eFiling, CIPC e-Services, QuickBooks, and advanced MS Excel
      • Solid understanding of South African legislation including BCEA, POPIA, COIDA, Income Tax Act, and the Companies Act
      • Strong ability to manage multiple deadlines across payroll, tax, and statutory compliance cycles
      • High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential payroll and corporate information
      • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage competing responsibilities effectively
      • Benefits:

        • Flexible remote working arrangement on a part-time schedule (20 hours per week)
        • Salary range: R20,000 โ€“ R25,000
        • Opportunity to work across diverse functions including payroll, HR, governance, and accounting
        • Exposure to a broad compliance and regulatory environment within the South African market
        • A dynamic role where versatility and multi-skill application are highly valued
        • Supportive and structured environment with collaboration across finance and operations
