FanDuel Group is looking to add to its legal team a Vice President, Regulatory to lead its Regulatory function. This role requires a highly experienced regulatory attorney with deep expertise in regulatory engagement, investigations, and enforcement within a complex, highly regulated environment.
This individual will oversee a team of attorneys and regulatory professionals, while driving FanDuel’s enterprise regulatory strategy and engagement. This role will serve as a key advisor to executive leadership and represent FanDuel with regulators and external partners, helping to maintain FanDuel’s position as the most trusted brand in the industry.
In addition to the specific responsibilities outlined above, employees may be required to perform other such duties as assigned by the Company. This ensures operational flexibility and allows the Company to meet evolving business needs.

This role will lead an experienced team of regulatory attorneys and other business professionals striving to maintain FanDuel’s position as the most trusted brand in the industry, and will be responsible for shaping and executing FanDuel’s regulatory strategy. Specifically, this position is responsible for:
- Own FanDuel’s enterprise regulatory strategy, including engagement with state and federal regulators and market access partners, ensuring alignment with business priorities and long-term growth objectives
- Oversee regulatory investigations, inquiries, incidents, and enforcement actions across all jurisdictions and all FanDuel products and processes, including ownership of frameworks, controls, metrics, and reporting
- Oversee FanDuel’s product advisory function, providing regulatory counsel across FanDuel’s suite of products
- Lead and develop a multi-layered team of regulatory attorneys and professionals across multiple jurisdictions
- Provide expert regulatory guidance to executive leadership and cross-functional partners, including Product, Risk, Compliance, and Financial Crimes teams, to enable seamless integration of regulatory obligations into business operations
- Manage high-impact regulatory relationships and represent FanDuel in complex or high-visibility regulatory matters
- Establish and enhance investigation and enforcement frameworks, ensuring consistency, scalability, and alignment across jurisdictions
- Partner with senior leaders to ensure strong visibility into regulatory performance, operational metrics, and key risk indicators (KRIs)
- Partner with executive leadership to shape market entry, product innovation, and long-term growth strategy through a regulatory lens
- Advise executive management on regulatory risks, emerging trends, and strategic opportunities, supporting informed decision-making across the business
- Lead and evolve training, communications, and governance strategies to ensure consistent understanding and application of regulatory requirements across FanDuel
- Serve as a key member of the Legal & Compliance leadership team
- Represent FanDuel in industry forums, regulatory working groups, and policy discussions
THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate
- JD from a top-tier law school and a member of at least one state bar
- 15+ years of legal experience, preferably including experience working as a regulator or prosecutor, at a nationally recognized law firm, and in-house counsel experience with a highly regulated company
- Demonstrated success in regulatory engagement and external stakeholder management, including experience working directly with regulators and influencing outcomes
- Proven ability to lead complex investigations and regulatory matters, including developing policies, processes, controls, and reporting frameworks
- Deep expertise in designing and operationalizing regulatory frameworks
- Significant experience managing and developing teams, including senior professionals, with a track record of driving performance in a fast-paced environment
- Strong business judgment and the ability to balance regulatory requirements with commercial objectives
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills, with the ability to operate effectively at the executive level
- Experience in a highly regulated and/or publicly traded company strongly preferred; prior experience as a regulator a plus
- Must be a self-starter, flexible, innovative, and adaptive, with a strong bias for action
- Once hired, may be required to obtain state gaming licenses from various jurisdictions in order to represent FanDuel before regulators

The applicable salary range for this position is $228,000 - $304,000 USD, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation. This role includes paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
