Key Responsibilities
- Define and own the end-to-end safety and compliance strategy across robotics operations.
- Establish and maintain safety standards, protocols, and operating procedures.
- Develop and track safety KPIs and compliance metrics.
- Proactively identify risks and implement preventative safety measures.
- Ensure safe execution of all robotics workflows, including:
- Robot operation and handling
- Teleoperation sessions
- Lab and field activities
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
- Enforce adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all teams.
- Act as the authority to pause or stop operations if safety risks are identified.
- Ensure all activities comply with:
- Client requirements
- Internal operational guidelines
- Applicable safety standards and policies
- Maintain and evolve compliance documentation, SOPs, and safety guidelines.
- Monitor adherence to workflows, data handling procedures, and operational controls.
- Lead incident reporting, investigation, and resolution processes.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Maintain logs and reporting for all safety and compliance incidents.
- Proactively identify trends and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Design and deliver safety training and certification programs for all operational roles.
- Ensure all team members are properly trained before engaging in robotics workflows.
- Promote a safety-first culture across the organization.
- Provide guidance and support to Workflow Managers and operators on safety best practices.
- Track and report on safety performance metrics (incident rates, compliance adherence, audit results).
- Drive continuous improvement in safety processes, tools, and workflows.
- Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements that maintain safety while increasing operational efficiency.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for safety and compliance with client stakeholders.
- Provide regular reporting and updates on safety performance and risk mitigation.
- Lead discussions on safety protocols, audits, and escalations.
- Anticipate client needs and proactively strengthen safety frameworks.

Experience
- Experience in safety, compliance, or operations roles within robotics, hardware, manufacturing, or similar environments.
- Proven ability to manage safety programs in fast-paced, operational settings.
- Experience conducting risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
- Familiarity with robotics environments, lab operations, or teleoperation workflows preferred.
Core Skills
- Strong understanding of safety protocols, compliance frameworks, and operational risk management.
- Experience with RCA, CAPA, and incident management processes.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to enforce standards and influence teams.
- Ability to balance operational efficiency with strict safety requirements.
