With over 120 banks, 250 insurance companies, and thousands of investment funds supervised by the CSSF and the Commissariat aux Assurances (CAA), Luxembourg is one of Europe's most regulated financial centres. You will advise credit institutions, PSFs (Professionnels du Secteur Financier), payment institutions, and management companies on the full spectrum of Luxembourg financial regulation.
What You Will Do
- Advise on CSSF licensing applications for banks, PSFs, management companies, and AIFMs
- Advise on ongoing regulatory compliance with CRD/CRR, PSD2, AMLD, and MiFID II as transposed into Luxembourg law
- Handle CSSF enforcement actions and administrative sanctions proceedings
- Advise on AML/KYC compliance under the Luxembourg AML Law of 12 November 2004
- Advise on the Luxembourg law on payment services and electronic money institutions
- Support clients with regulatory change management and DORA implementation
Responsibilities
- Lead financial regulation mandates for banking and fund industry clients
- Advise on CSSF licensing, ongoing compliance, and enforcement proceedings
- Draft regulatory submissions and correspondence with the CSSF
- Monitor Luxembourg and EU regulatory developments affecting the financial sector
- Supervise junior lawyers and contribute to thought leadership
Requirements
- Admission to the Barreau de Luxembourg as Avocat a la Cour required
- Master in Law from a recognised European university
- 7-10 years of experience in Luxembourg financial regulation
- Deep knowledge of the Loi du 5 avril 1993, CSSF regulations, and EU prudential frameworks
- Experience with CSSF licensing and supervisory processes
- Fluent in English and French; German or Luxembourgish is an advantage
Compensation
€10,000 - €14,000/year
