Job Description
Bolt is hiring a Senior Legal Counsel for Employment Law to support our rapidly growing global workforce from our Tallinn headquarters. You will advise on all aspects of Estonian and EU employment law, including the gig economy regulatory framework that is central to Bolt's business model.
The role involves navigating the Toolepaingute seadus (Employment Contracts Act), the EU Platform Workers Directive, and labor regulations across Bolt's 45+ markets. You will handle sensitive employment disputes, restructurings, and policy development for one of Europe's fastest-growing tech companies.
Responsibilities
Advise on Estonian and EU employment law compliance for Bolt's global operations. Lead legal strategy on platform worker classification and the EU Platform Workers Directive. Handle employment disputes and represent Bolt before the Labour Dispute Committee (Toovaaidluskomisjon). Draft and update global employment policies, handbooks, and standard agreements. Advise on restructurings, redundancies, and cross-border employee transfers.
Requirements
Law degree; admission to the Estonian Bar Association is an advantage. 6-8 years of employment law experience, preferably in tech or platform economy. Expert knowledge of the Toolepaingute seadus (Employment Contracts Act) and EU employment directives. Experience with gig economy and platform worker classification issues. Fluent in English; Estonian is strongly preferred.
