Revolut Lithuania, which holds a European specialized banking license issued by Lietuvos bankas (Bank of Lithuania), is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join our Regulatory team in Vilnius. Lithuania has emerged as a leading EU fintech hub, and Revolut's Lithuanian entity serves millions of customers across the European Economic Area.
You will advise on compliance with the Banku istatymas (Law on Banks), Mokejimo istaigu istatymas (Law on Payment Institutions), Elektroninniu pinigu istaigu istatymas (Law on Electronic Money Institutions), and EU financial regulations including PSD2/PSD3, EMD2, and MiCA. The role involves close interaction with Lietuvos bankas and the European Central Bank.
Responsibilities
Advise on regulatory compliance for Revolut's European operations under Lithuanian and EU financial law. Lead engagement with Lietuvos bankas and ECB on regulatory matters, examinations, and license conditions. Analyze the impact of new EU regulations (PSD3, MiCA, DORA) on Revolut's product offerings. Draft regulatory submissions, license applications, and policy responses. Collaborate with product and engineering teams to build compliance into new features.
Requirements
Teises magistras or equivalent law degree. 6-9 years of experience in financial regulation, fintech, or banking law. Expert knowledge of Lithuanian and EU payment services and electronic money regulation. Experience with Lietuvos bankas or ECB regulatory interactions. Understanding of open banking, e-money, and crypto-asset regulation (MiCA). Fluent in English; Lithuanian is a strong advantage.
